Annual meeting elects Chairman and Vice Chairman

The Parish Council held its annual meeting on Tuesday 19 May 2026 at the Barbour Institute, Tattenhall. Cllr Nigel Johnson was re-elected as Chairman for the year ahead, and Cllr Karen Worthington was elected Vice Chairman.

The annual meeting is when the council reviews its governance arrangements for the coming year. Councillors confirmed the adoption of the council’s Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, Code of Conduct, Risk Assessment, Information Technology Policy and Publication Scheme, and confirmed the appointment of Ruth Richardson as Responsible Financial Officer.

Accounts approved

The council approved its Annual Governance Statement and Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2026 and received the internal auditor’s report, which raised no matters of concern. The council also renewed its insurance with Zurich and its membership of the Cheshire Association of Local Councils.
